So what is a mind map? In short, mind map is a diagram of related information around a key idea. However, MindMeister is a great tool to begin if you have not tried a mind mapping tool yet because you can use MindMeister to create a simple mind map without the need of installing an application.





After signing up, you are provided two secret email addresses from MindMeister: one to add to an existing map, and one to make new maps. You just send an indented list of items to that address via email, then MindMeister will create a new map or add the node to your default map, relying on which address you used.

As a developer for desktop applications and web, you can access and change private and public mind maps on MindMeister via API. MindMeister allows some power user features such as cooperate with other users on the same mind map at the same time, and the ability to import mind maps from other mind mapping applications. Your MindMeister dashboard shows you which mind maps you have shared, kept private, orpublished.
