MakeUseOf: “Omni” means all and the OmniFormat document conversion utility lives up to the name. The free version permits active conversion and image handling of over 75 file formats including HTML, DOC, XLS, WPD, PDF, XML, JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, PCX, PPT, PS, TXT, Photo CD, FAX and MPEG.
Life rock: Many time we would like to get the PDF file in a JPEG format, so that it can be viewed even if a PDF reader is not installed. OmniFormat is a free utility that allows you to convert PDF files to JPEG format. This application can convert documents to various other formats as well. OmniFormat requires the installation of Pdf995 which is again a free utility to convert to PDF. You will need to install the PDF995 utility first and then install OmniFormat.
PCWorld: Want to convert that unwieldy bitmap image to a JPEG? Or that Word document to a TIF image file? How about converting that GIF file to a handsome PDF? If you can tolerate some ads, OmniFormat can do it for free.
gHacks: Omniformat is able to convert 75 different document types, the emphasis lies on text and graphic documents. I can think of one reason for myself to convert documents to different formats: I sometimes download files that I´am not able to edit because they have been either created on a different operating system and my system does not support editing the file or I simply do not have an editor at hand for the document.
instant fundas: OmniFormat is an ad supported file conversion software that allows you to convert almost any file format into another, and it does that automatically. That’s what particularly interested me in this application. OmniFormat has some features that I couldn’t find in any free file converter.
