Recently, I’ve written posts about using NameBench to figure out which works best for your Internet connection and switching to other DNS server quickly just with a click using DNS jumper. In case you find that Google Public DNS works great for you and tend to switch to it, you may prefer Google DNS Helper.
I’ve been using Google Public DNS for weeks, and experienced the the enhanced performance this service brings. The addresses you use to configure is also beautiful and damn easy to remember: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
As every geek always advices you that you should back up your current DNS server addresses first before switching to the new one, you might write them down onto a page or save them in a text file.
And in case you want to switch back from Google Public DNS, you copy or type those previous addresses into the dialog manually. With Google DNS Helper, you can ignore this tiring process since it does this automatically. You simply hit the button Switch to Google DNS or Restore DNS to switch or restore.
